Cinnamon: New York City is rather heavy on the occult underground, sure, but the subways haven't really been a special part of that for decades. There doesn't appear to be any fresh supernatural mess, either. I mean, the electrical problems this station is having could have been caused by mage shenanigans or something but then again they might not. There is something significant about this station, but you can't put your finger on it. It hovers in the back of your mind as you examine your surroundings. Despite the persistent nagging thoughts you keep your focus and find something interesting; a section of this far wall was laid down at a different time as the rest, enough of a span to accommodate at least two people walking side by side. And then it hits you! You remember why this station is special. This is where the BMT Broadway line overlaps the old Beach Pneumatic Transit system, which was built - get this - just before the turn of the century. The line ran from here to Central Park, but officially 'never caught on' with the public... odd considering the subway as it's known today saw its start in 1904, mere years later. Well, the underground construction certainly caught someone's eye - those passages are still there, behind the brick and mortar. It's not easy to discern, but the tried-and-true knock on the wall trick tells you there's still a hollow behind that wall. (Here, Investigation successes provided synergy with the Academics check to net you successes on an otherwise unsuccessful check. Lesson for you players; don't be afraid to throw checks! Especially for mental actions. If you think it might help? Give it a shot.)
Arden: Your augury tells you that, without a doubt, Cinnamon is on to something. Dangerous? Unclear. Significant? Oh yeah.

"Ok Cinnamon is on the right track, but i have no idea where that track leads. *frustrated grunt* I've looked at the threads of time and fate and they simply say that what is about to happen is important, could be dangerous, could be safe, no idea. This is one of those times where we write our own fate." Arden looks around at this group of strangers whom he is about to risk his life with. "So i'm Acanthus, a Fate mage, I don't do combat that well. I... well I chose a different path of study and i'll eventually get to the combat stuff, but what i can do is get luck on our side. For one I can probably give everyone here some shielding. I can also tilt the odds in our favor if i know a general idea of how we want this to go down. I'll take it as given we all want to walk out of here still alive or unlive or whatever. But do we want to do this peacefully, talking our way out if possible, or do we want whatever is associated with this do die. If we ask for peace and we have to fight, luck may turn against us. Also i won't cast on anyone who objects, so let me know if you are in or out." Arden looks a little sheepish for having essentially gone on a monologue but looks around expectantly.

Jude made a face at the life she found, though it wasn't an unpleasant wasn't one at the rats and other vermin. However, that wasn't what her attention needed to be on. She frowned deeply. "Whatever is there....isn't right. It isn't alive, it is more like a shadow?" She squinted at the area more as if trying to will the words to describe it to come to her. "Not alive. Big, maybe multiple? I can't tell." She turned her attention to the group. "That's all i can gather, because i don't think you care about the rodent population down here."
She shifted her attention to Arden. She really didn't know much about Fate magic, but it didn't sit well.

Cin frowned as she studied the wall she had found. Liking her lips, she glanced back as Arden spoke.
"I don't know what kind of luck we want to have, but I do know we need to get to the other side of this wall. The train brought us here and someone felt it important to close off whatever is behind here," she rapped the wall with her knuckles. "As for casting, I'm fine with it," she added with a shrug, returning her eyes to the wall.

"SHADOW!" Crux interjects in a stage whisper, hugging the Tesseract within Karen's plush palms.
"So where is our Blue Dress Lady?"
The slight Canadian looks back and forth, consulting the Tesseract as she takes in the overload of information she's getting.
"Johannes, what do we have there? What do you gather?"
The Malkavian checks her phone again in hopes of getting..anything back, but then inspects the wall more closely.
"Cast what you like, but.. I've got to figure some stuff out before we keep on. I trust the Train and Tessie here, but.. I still need to see more.. Maybe Karen can help? Something..."

"Well the question becomes, who needs more protection? I'm pretty sure Jude can protect herself as well as i could protect her." Looking over at crux. "How much time do you think, if it's enough i could make this a lot easier by doing all of this in a ritual." Arden looks at the wall. (int + crafts 26)

Crux: The lights flicker on the walls, casting shadows through the cracks. Little impurities in the bricks sparkle like stars in the night sky. Their constellations tell a story... The burning man can pass this wall, but that's as far as he can go. The stationmaster's room was never his. Find the keyhole within to free the prisoner. She will fear you at first. Time will find you then, before the turn for the worse.

Crux clears her vampy little throat and repeats what she'd seen and heard from this omen.
"The lights tell me The burning man can pass this wall, but that's as far as he can go. The stationmaster's room was never his. Find the keyhole within to free the prisoner. She will fear you at first. Time will find you then, before the turn for the worse. Which.. sounds shitty. Help?"
Her question was more or less for the entire group.

Arden starts chanting in what sounds an aweful lot like gibberish {reveal enigma with chant 28)

Arden: Well, by process of elimination, Johann must be 'the burning man' - neither of you mages, the sin eater, the changeling, and ESPECIALLY not the vampire fit that description. It's a common practice to disguise supernatural sanctuaries as something else, so undoubtedly there's a 'Stationmaster's Office' somewhere that is anything but. The 'key' is in Crux's hand - as her onieromancy on the train revealed - so the Tesseract is undoubtedly the 'key' in this metaphor, and the place it needs to be is within the disguised sanctum. 'She will fear you'... something tells you that it's not plural 'you'; she will fear Crux specifically, though you're not sure why. 'Time will find you then, before the turn for the worse'... well there's definitely danger ahead, as an unavoidable result of this path, but it's not going to jump on you immediately - not until you leave the sanctum, you'd wager.

Once Arden is done with his chanting he takes a look around. "I might have something, I think I might have something." Turning to Johann "I think the burning man is you sir, no one else here really fits that descirption. And the key is the tesseract. I'm not sure what the station master's office is but it is likely where we are headed. Crux, the person we find is likely to be afraid of you specifically as opposed to a general "you" meaning the group. That i can help with, with a little nudge and a little magic we can help reduce that fear. If we continue forward there will certainly be danger, but not before "Time" finds us, so it's likely not till after we help this person." Arden's eyes refocus. "Now that we have more information I can say specifically i can help with this person's fear, and i can tilt the odds in our favor just a little for whatever that "turn for the worse" is. Does anyone object"

Cass looked around aimlessly trying to get a feel for the place. He kept an ear on what was going on.
"You'd be surprised at how important rodents can be Jude. All life is important, eh?"
He smiled at the life mage and went back to his looking. He listened closely at what Cin had to say, and then more of Crux's omen. Then took in Arden's talk of fate and ritual. He pats Arden on the shoulder in a friendly sign of appreciation.
"I'm in no real need of protection Ardy. I appreciate none the less. Even Mr. Gutenberg has admitted he's not sure if he could put me down permanently in one go. Save the magics for anyone who could really use it. I'd also steer clear of charming me. I could probably mess it up for everyone eh?"
He looks at the wall and to Cin.
"And you know I can bring a wall down if needed. Say the word and I can use my gravedirt and turn it to rubble, stealth like of course. Don't want to draw to much more attention."
He sits in silence for a moment before remembering Crux's talk about a woman in a blue dress, and the station office. They had never met her before!
"OH! My dice! If we need to find this woman we can use my dice to get a direction!"
Another pause.
"I guess it all just matters on which way to go from here. I can do a couple of tings depending. Find the blue dress girl, or tear down a wall, maybe both?"

Cinnamon glanced over at Cassidy. She hadn't even thought about the fact that he could do that. She was going to look for a sledge hammer.
"That's a good idea. If no one has issue with it, I say go for it." Cin backed away from the wall, not taking her eyes from it. "Though that riddle...does that mean Johann can walk through it or just that he can't stay with us beyond it?"

"Turning the wall to rubble sounds like a great idea." Turns to cinnamon and crux "well i guess that leaves the two of you, would either of you like some magic armor for what ever is to come? And i'll help crux out with that fear thing"

"I don't do the 'walking through walls' thing," Johann places a hand on the section in question. "But I can definitely get past it. Why me, though? To spare you the juice?" He peers at Cassidy. "I suppose that's as good a reason as any. Just tell me when you're ready."
