Mama Thyrsus gives Baby Thyrsus a big ol' bear hug (pun intended) - Jude is lifted a good foot off the floor. As if on cue, the Locomotive emerges from a tunnel and its brakes squeal into action. Beyond the windows you can see a mountain forest beneath full moon, struggling to be seen behind the clouds. The doors swing open, ushering the scent of pine, spruce, and fir with the crisp winter air. Ysolda recognizes that scent. "This is my stop, then." She sets Jude down and pats her on the head. "You go kick some ass, young ones. I've got to find my way into the Umbra." Like a panther on the prowl, she stalks into the night, closing the doors behind her. The howl of the great steam whistle heralds the Locomotive lurching to life once again. It disappears into another tunnel - this time, you are surrounded by only darkness, a darkness which seeps into the cars themselves and seems to sap the lights of strength. Everything is dimmer now, and the engine's roar is louder. The Heart whispers in Jude's ear, "These waters are greedy. They will never give back what they have taken." There's a tension in the air, a vibration in the walls and floor suggesting that something resists this leg of your journey. The Locomotive cannot be stopped, but it's not for lack of trying; every rivet and weld in the great steel beast groans with the exertion against some unknown force. Something is rattling the windows - cracks begin to spiderweb their way across the crystal panes. Is something out there?... or is it your imagination? No one feels much like talking - the brooding darkness breeds contemplation (Players may make Wits+Occult rolls to identify properties of occult items at this time. Use of supernatural abilities to aid those rolls is permitted).
After a time which feels much longer than it surely was, cold flourescence flickers into view - the harsh, unyielding artificial light of the New York Subway. Each of you feels inexorably drawn out onto the platform; before you know it you've disembarked, possessions old and new in hand. Crux finds the Tesseract in her possession without any memory of picking it up. From outside, the Locomotive's whistle is tinny and distorted, but the train vanishes into the tunnel nevertheless. Taking stock of your surroundings, you see this location has been closed for maintenance... but there are no workers to be seen; just open panels, exposed wiring, abandoned toolboxes, and standing floodlamps. Signs reveal this to be the City Hall station on the BMT Broadway line. This is the place you are meant to be... but why?
What do you do?

Arden switches to Prime sight to contemplate the bottle of Three Eye while trying to ignore the darkness. (wits/occult 20)
As they leave the train and Arden realizes where they are... "Ug New York, it would have to be here, well at least i don't have my red sox gear on"

(Nat 20 with a total of 29 for Wits+Occult plus whatever amount of successes my caul gave me)
Cass emerges from his caul just in time to watch the darkness fade. As he exits he runs his had along the train, feeling every crack.
"Poor thing. I'm sorry. Thank you for our safe passage."
He exits and looks around.
"Hey dere! The big apple itself. Haven't been here since I was a kid. Mom played a round against the Rangers. Totally whooped them."
Cass then here's Arden's comment.
"Yeah you wouldn't want to be caught with that shit teams merch on ya eh?"
Cass then pulls a vintage Toronto Bluejay's hat from his jacket and places it on his head with a snicker.

Crux holds the Tesseract in both hands, grinning at it as she seems to barely notice anything else.
Once the air of New York reaches her nose, she snaps out of her trance and hugs the thing gently, whispering to it, "You're safe with me, I promise."
Her eyes dim and go back into their normal hue as she looks to Karen, first. "We've been to New York lots, Karen said. I'm excited. This means good things."
Her grin goes on.
"My father said this was the place to be, and I trust it. And ew, Baseball. But.. remember the woman in the blue dress, and let's be careful of the shadow," she remarked, having also taken her blood soup in her spare hand. Crux chugs it and dumps the bowl in a nearby garbage bin.
Turning toward her friends, Crux nods. "Everyone, check our phones, first. See if that's changed any. Then, let's adjust our clocks. New time zone. Then.. what?"

"Great idea Crux" Arden pulls out his phone to check for new messages and the date.
"Yeah Cas, we may not always be the best, but at least we don't assault the fans of rival teams like they did in new york"

Arden - there's some damn potent magic in this stuff. It'd be extremely useful for expanding the senses if consumed, sure, but it could also serve as a powerful reagent to fuel a magic ritual, should you require such a thing. As a third option, a skilled alchemist could undoubtedly extract some rare substances from the mix. This thing has a LOT of potential.
Cassidy - Most sin-eater trinkets resonate with certain Keys - passion, industrial, what have you - but THIS thing... this thing resonates with a Manifestation. Specifically, the Boneyard. What it does, you're still just not quite certain... you don't think this was made by a Sin-Eater or Wraith, but something else tied to the Underworld. It will undoubtedly be beneficial to you, but the first test should definitely be run far away from Sleeper eyes.
Your electronic devices all function again, but any wireless capabilities are spotty at best. Phones connect to networks long enough to get time and date - according to the Real, you were in the Hedge for three days, and as you watch the clock turns over to 1:01 AM - but not much more than that. A message from Gloria makes it through; Chicago hasn't gotten worse, per se, but the Hedge is still doing weird things at random, circumstance is still conspiring to keep supernaturals from leaving, and tensions are rising with the skirmishes on the streets, so it's definitely not getting better. She and Joseph had to put off their hunt for a new ritual site because of some mage bullshit - looks like the Seers of the Throne - and mounting an assault has been delayed in favor of putting out a few fires in the street war... Agency's orders. Outgoing calls are rendered impossible at the moment, but texts might make it through in time.
Johann looks... confused. Brow furrowed, he starts to wander around the platform - his body language is that of someone trying to find the source of an odd smell. "... this is definitely the place. There's something... here, in this station. But I can't quite put my finger on it."

(three days huh, well that isn't too bad for spending time in a place where time is drunk) "Johann, can you be a bit more specific, if you can i can cycle through the magic spectrum to try an locate something." At this point Arden has space and Prime sight up and he begins looking very closely everywhere with omnivision, being careful not to pat too much attention to the tesseract.

Under Prime sight you see something. Somewhere beyond the wall on the other side of the tracks there is a magical aura; something passive, waiting for a specific trigger, its function obscured by distance and probably design.

"Ok folks, I'm not sure if it's what Johann is sensing, but there is... something... Magical on the other side of the track and beyond a wall over that way." Arden points in the direction of the magical aura. Looking over at Crux. "and no i'm not being vague i literally have no idea what it is or what it does, someone obscured the function when it was made."

Jude stepped off the train and looked around. She rummaged her pockets for her phone. Her eyes widened even further to find it three days later. It made sense, but she hadn't had contact with anyone...She would have to smooth things over at her work later...tell her parents she was alive....again later.
She put her phone away and pat the satchel at her hip. "Do you know if it is alive...or do you want me to have a look?" She asked glancing at everyone in the group.

(24 to activate auspex) Crux looks in the direction Arden was referring to and sends a text to Solomon that just said "He came to me through the cobweb".
Currently, she didn't seem to care about work per se, but after looking with her supernatural sight, she made a mental note to text some new York contacts once they left the station.

Turning to look at Jude. "Sorry can't tell if it is alive right now, i'd say its a good idea o find out if there is anything down here though" Arden continues to scrutinize the aura for every last bit of info.

Jude: Life Sight reveals quite a bit of random life down here - subway rats, fungal colonies, nothing too unusual. Sifting through those kinds of signals is rather effortless; you're looking for something big, out of place. You find it... and you don't. There's definitely a higher-order life sign over there, maybe more than one? But they're faint. Echoes of something which came before. You've heard Death mages describe what imprints of ghosts look like, and you're seeing something like that. But for something alive? That's not normal.
Crux: Auspex doesn't reveal anything slap-you-in-the-face abnormal. You think the Veil is a little thin here, but that's not unusual for a century-old piece of underground construction. There are no active magical effects present, and you certainly sense no auras of supernatural creatures. The Tesseract looks more bizarre than usual; you can see little wisps of energy trailing off its surface, pointing in the direction Arden indicated. You are back in the Real, and may use your new Omen Sensitivity merit if you wish. It is an unmodified Wits + Occult roll; for every success, you may ask one simple question and get a truthful, one-word answer (list them in order if you choose to ask the questions before rolling), or you may simply accept whatever omen chooses to reveal itself, in which case you don't get to control what you learn but the answers can come in the form of small phrases or even images. Those are the limitations of this power; the ADVANTAGE is that it's not a discipline or similar power, so it can't be detected or interfered with by malicious observers or the presence of powerful supernatural objects.
Arden: All you can tell from here is that whoever made it is very good. Prime Sight is probably the only thing that reliably reveals its presence at all (since nothing can be perfectly hidden). If you can figure out how to get to it you might learn more - or, given that it triggered his sixth sense, it will react to Johann, revealing its nature. The question is how to get to it.

After eating, Cinnamon figured she must have somehow managed to pass out on the train because the next thing she knew, Ysolda was gone and everyone was getting off. In a half-asleep panic, she gathered her things and hurried into the station. For some reason, she had a serious fear of being left behind on the train. Logically, she knew it didn't make sense, but it was a feeling. She squinted into the harsh florescents as she tied her long hair into a high pony.
It doesn't take too long for Cin to regain her bearings. Checking her phone, she sees the text from Gloria and frowns slightly. Shooting off a text to Sandler ("out of the Hedge. in New York now. NEthing new?"), she puts her phone in her back pocket before glancing and pacing around the station.

Arden is starting to get a bad feeling... lets see what might be seen about the future. {roll of 21 for a Time 2 Augery, not looking for much, just a feeling of danger/combat or not}
