Cass laughed a bit.
"It's a long story with silence and ends with molotov cocktails and me blowing up a transformer. Boring stuff really."
Cassidy looks over at the variety of super naturals gathered in the room. It really seemed like this all became an everybody problem.
"Yeah, it's been weird. Angels, Demons, Devils. Fuck even the Hedge. Things have just gone from bad to worse so fast. Hopefully with Solomon and the help of everyone here we can finish this and take back this city. In the end that's what we're about right? Taking care of unfinished business, bringing peace... Sometimes anyway."
Cass could practically feel his plasm pulsing. He had been psyching himself up for this for awhile. Still, it felt unreal. After conversing with Terry he looked to everyone.
"Wonderful to meet you Terry, and thank you for coming. I promise to have your backs out there, and when we get back the first round is on me."
He goes to Jude and gives her a kiss on her cheek.
"I'm going to see the Sausage King and get an idea on how we're proceeding."
Cassidy then turned to the magical parents.
"It was wonderful meeting you. After this I'd love to have dinner with you all. Hopefully get to know you better. Good luck out there. I'll be watching out for Jude and you both as best I can."
He left them all to head over to the giant map table and all the official looking members around it. After a break in their chatter Cassidy made his presence know.
"Your sausageness."
Cassidy gave a slight bow as he addressed the king of Chicago.

Jude returned the gentle kiss on the cheek and smiled. She nodded, "I'm going to do...something." She waved her hand about the room. She really didn't know where she should go first or if she really needed to. Strategy wasn't really her forte...at least as far as she knew.
The Life-Mage gave a soft smile to the other Sin-Eaters, and then addressed Terry. "I am Jude....Life-Mage." She introduced herself, holding out her hand to be shook as well. "I would also like to thank you all for coming." She nodded at the rest of the group. "Did you have to travel far?" Jude was trying to be friendly and receptive.
She tucked her hair behind her ear and adjusted the strap of her bag across her torso. She wasn't about to be unprepared, but she was fidgety. Jude found herself eager to get to the fighting, to solve the problem. The thought startled her a bit. Who would of thought she would be one of the ones ready to just start....fighting. She really needed to get some time with Ysolda to learn some more useful things.

Crux had found her way to.. close ish to Solomon. She was trying to figure out who was whom on the map, and trying to listen to whatever it was being said.
Pleasantries were a formality she only kinda grasped, anyway, and she was eager to see the kind of powers her Malkavian militia had brought with them. After a night with Solomon, she was feeling the urge to learn more battle-type things.
At the Sin eaters, she raised a noncommittal open hand in greeting. She nodded as well, and then turned to the vampires.
"How are we going to be of help? How can I aide? I can go take a nap with a question and help there. It takes an hour, though, so time would be of the essence, I suppose, eh, Highness?"
The waiting and conversation without a plan was getting on Karen's tiny polyfil nerves. Crux needed to be useful after having lost her unicorn, which, in honesty, bothered them both.

"Hey, ya know, we do what we gotta do. Not to say I won't take you up on that drink. Business first, though, ya know." Terry tosses off a casual salute as Cass departs. At Jude's question, he responds, "Nah, none of us came very far. We're all local, ya know, keepin' our heads down until this blew over, but your buddy there made a good argument." Shrug. "Besides, good to throw our weight around from time to time. Remind people what we can do. Oh, sorry." He forgot about Jude's outstretched hand, but quickly rectified that. "Didn't mean to be rude there. What about you? Guessin' this is the homefront?"
Solomon's gaze is fixed on the map of his kingdom, but he's otherwise quite responsive. "Dead man! Welcome back. Out of the frying pan and into the toaster oven, eh wot? I need an opinion; superballs, or slinkies - and why? Think carefully now; the fate of my city is at stake." When Crux approaches, he throws and arm around his new squeeze. "A lovely offer, sweetling, but I really wouldn't know what to ask. The emerging fractals of war defy quantification; a chaos theory paradigm in progress. Cue the Butterfly Effect! So we fight the irrational numbers with irrational minds. A web made of spiders - your people - scattered across the city. Watching, listening... but perhaps better used elsewhere? We have Rothke's sewer rats, after all. What do you think?"

The arm round her helped her from drifting too much into Karen's mind, but she gave an earnest smile at the mention of her people. His other chatter put her to thought, as well. "Mm, my vote is superballs, they can get anywhere with enough luck. In all things."
She pecked the King's cheek and then tapped her chin. "I can put my little spiders on the opposite side of where the police might be. I have a ghoul in the force. We may be able to squish the invaders that way and keep them herded like sheepies? Oh, will the mummies join us? And, I have an artifact, on my person, that may or may not help? Anybody coming through able to aide in that kind of thing?" Crux was already visibly less cranky. Talking about war in a war room was soothing. Now she could figure where to place all her spindly aggression.

Nodding, Jude smiled, "It sure is." she replied pleasantly. "I mean...I have grown fond of this place and most the people, so I want to keep it that way." Her eyes wandered over the group again and nodded, "I look forward to working with all of you." she gave a little wave. "I need to go speak with another mage. It was nice meeting you, Terry." And with that she wandered off to find Helena.
"Helena, I have a quick question for you. I actually keep forgetting I have it. I got it while we were in New York, nut then we had time monsters and then Halloween." she pulled her bag forward and dug through it a bit, being sure not to jostle the heart hidden away. "Do you, by chance, know what this necklace is? I cannot open it or anything. And you're a super genius who knows everything." she grinned at the blonde. "I also have a maneki neko that I'd like you have a look at....if that's okay." Jude felt like she was asking a lot of the time mage, but also she felt this was her only chance, and if it was useful...even better.

Cinnamon stayed to the back of the group as they entered Solomon's war room. The previous night had been exhausting but the afterparty had relieved a lot of pent up stress in the Fairest. Not being terribly familiar with war, but becoming more and more familiar with battles, she had made sure to dress as appropriately as possible with her combat boots, jeans, and leather. [Picture to come when I'm not in my phone] Mostly, she stayed near Crux long enough to smile pleasantly at Jude's parents before heading over to Sandler and Winslow.
"Sirs," Cinnamon greeted, slightly bowing her head in reverence. "You are Winslow of Summer, yes? I am Keely Cavanagh." She offered a slender hand. "What is our game plan with all of this?"

Solomon waves a hand dismissively. "The Risen have their own concerns - metaphysical concerns - from which I would not distract them even if I could. They have their sights set on 35 East Wacker on the Loop, for some reason." His shrug is accompanied by an incredulous look. "Now your lovely little web on the other hand, that piques my interest. Move the pigs to O'Hare and the spiders opposite them..." He begins to slide pieces into place on the map. "No," Zeke speaks, his voice a touch higher than expected. "Not parallel. Perpendicular. North side, keep them bottled. They're already south and west. Don't give them north as an opportunity." Solomon nods; he sees the merit of it but doesn't move the pieces, as he's still weighing his options. "So you're Sandler's eye in the field."He shakes Cinnamon's hand. "All we're concerned with is keeping the monsters off the Mile. They've come at 333 North Michigan - didn't hold it, but if you think they won't try again you'll be a fool. Summer can be counted on to see this to the end, though others," He casts a sideways glance at Sandler, "Think we should care first and foremost for our defense." "It's not our city, Winslow." Sandler is entirely unabashed. "Your Monarch would do well to remember that."
At the mention of her genius, Helena grins. "Thank you! I know, though. Lemme see?" She very carefully takes the items to inspect them. "Hmm... where did you get these?"

Crux looked over the map. She knew Chicago pretty well and listened to the suggestion.
"What if... we, eh, put the spiders in a curve, piggies in a straight line, and put the sineaters north, send them ahead a little of us? They hit hard, so we flank and funnel, surprise 'em so they don't know where to aim?" Crux said, gesticulating at the risk map. "Karen said that way, the rest of us can come up behind the sin eaters and be a kind of surprise!"
The small Canadian smiled. She felt like Karen gave her a good compromise to give.
"Karen would like for us to touch your beard, if that's alright, King Solomon."
Karen demanded. Crux mediated.
Compromise.
Crux's free hand patted Cinnamon on the arm in cameraderie.

"I bought it...well...traded it against a snack cake...from Mr. Ox. You were there, I remember you got tea and ..actually, everyone got something." she blinked at the realisation. She had no idea what good or bad would come of that shady man's dealings. She frowned a bit and looked at the necklace as if it might transform into something and bite one of them. "Why?"

"Right. Sorry. I totally spaced. That tea was good. I didn't know you bought anything. Oh, Lord!" Helena just starts giggling. "You all partook of Mr. Ox's humble wares. Hee hee! Well... I can tell you this much," She hangs the locket round your neck. It's... surprisingly warm. Not in an unpleasant way, but still - weird. "I think you'll find yourself... quickened by that. As for the maneki neko, well," With a shrug she places it back into your hands, "I am reminded of the tale of the Temple Cat. This story goes that a wealthy feudal lord named Ii Naotaka was taking shelter under a tree near GÅtoku-ji temple during a thunderstorm. The lord saw the temple priest's cat beckoning to him and followed; a moment later the tree was struck by lightning. The wealthy man became friends with the poor priest and the temple became prosperous. When the cat died, supposedly the first maneki-neko was made in his honor. Cat saved his life; could be it will save yours too." "Now, I bet you're wondering what the catch is," She continues, smirking. "And if you're not, you should be. Sorry to disappoint, but I can't help you there. Mr. Ox's wares are always... interesting, I can tell you that."
Solomon shuffles some pieces around on his board. "We can't commit everything to the Park just yet; not until we've sent fire-fighters downtown. But the idea has merit. And of course you may," He strokes his beard in a very mastermind-like way. "It's lucky, you know."

Jude looked concerned, "Why is that so funny?" she asked, not knowing if she wanted to really know the answer. Jude felt the necklace around her neck and it's warmth and looked at it. "That's handy." she touched the locket gently as she listened to Helena's tale about the lucky cat. She nodded. "I guess I will find out eventually. It isn't something I actually bought? I had left an extra snack cake as we left after everything and it appeared in my pocket." She gave a gentle shrug. "And yes I am very curious as to what the catch is, more so know that you can't tell me." Jude made a face, rather she just sort of wrinkled her nose. She gave Helena a hug, "But thank you for telling me what you could. It puts me...a little at ease. I didn't want to wear it or anything because I didn't know what it was, and the neko...well. I will keep it with me just in case still."
The life mage reached into her bag and pulled out, surprise surprise, a snack cake and offered it up. "I brought snacks...just in case." she giggled a bit. Out of the corner of her eye she saw her parents gesturing her over again. "Looks like I am being summoned. Thank you again Helena!" she said before heading over to her parents.
Cora took her daughter's hand as she drew close enough, grinning ear to ear. "Oh sweetie! Your father and I have a gift for you." She was practically dancing on the spot in her excitement.
Jude looked highly confused. "A gift?" She squinted at her parents suspiciously. Their gifts ranged from completely normal to ...well not so normal. The not so normal was in hopes to get her to follow in their footsteps. That worked out....so well.
"Yes yes!" Cora chirped and pulled Jude closer. Styxx held his arm forward, perched on his forearm was a crow. Once seeing Jude it flew over and perched on her shoulder.
"We got you a familiar." Cora said excitedly. "We were just so proud of what you have accomplished and we wanted to get you something useful. And we knoow you aren't fond of weapons, so you get help!"
Jude looked at the crow, it picked at her hair a bit, but generally looked pretty standard...for a crow.
"If we could have given you a raven, we would have. But there are rules against that and they don't always listen anyway. So! We got you a very intelligent...not...raven." she trailed off, not understanding why that didn't sound as cool outloud as it did in her head.
Jude giggled and scritched under the crow's beak. "He's really cute, thank you. I really appreciate it."
"Oh." Styxx cut in, "He also breathes fire."
"What?!" Jude asked startled. At that very moment, the crow lifted his head and a small ball of fire erupted from it's beak, singing part of Jude's hair. Jude yelped and stared at the...not so normal gift of the crow.
After a moment, Jude licked the tips of her fingers and put it to the singed chunk of hair and pulled, fixing what was burnt. "We....will have to work on that..." she said weakly.
Styxx chuckled, "Good luck." He said happily. He put an arm around his wife and pulled her close, kissing the top of her head.
"I...am going to talk to Ysloda now." She said and walked off with her fire-breathing crow.

Ysolda is pleased as punch to meet the familiar. "Ohh look at him! He's cute." The crow caws in a very self-satisfied way as Ysolda pets him. "He's very - what's that?" She cocks her head to one side, listening to something you can't hear. "Huh. Apparently his name is Matches?" Cue little crow fireball. "Sweet! I love your parents, by the way. They're awesome." Matches caws again. "Matches likes them too. Anyway, what do you need?"

First, Karen smushed "herself" onto the lucky beard. Gently, of course, but it was a smush. Karen liked Solomon, probably more than anybody who wasn't Crux.
Once she was properly stowed on Crux's person, Karen kept pretty quiet. Crux grinned and gave a few soft strokes to the King's beard, nipping her lip. Self controooolll.
She had impulses to grope their benevolent dictator.
And climb into his lap.
And..
Nooope. War. Focus. Fooocusss.
Karen hissed in Crux's mind. Fooocuuusssssss.
"Hm, we have firefighters? That's really nice. Either way, I feel like if we can turn the nasties into donut holes...and we make up the donut. Good? Yes?"
She looked to zeke, and then to Solomon.
Good ideas?

Jude smiled at the compliment to her parents. "They are pretty great." She said fondly as she discretely took a piece of hair out of Matches' mouth. There were already a couple of more singed spots in her hair.
"Oh! Right! Before everything starts I was hoping you could help teach me some new things? Or at the very least...what I do with Matches?" She gave Ysolda her best 'help me puppy face'. She held it together without laughing.
