Arden looks up from his book suddenly a little alarmed. "Wait, Turf war??? What else is happening in chicago, i was there only a few hours before i fell through the looking glass" In his head *Yeah boss I lived, and i suppose i AM learning a lot, but still a little heads up might be nice, you know instead of "hey check out what's up in Chicago." how about "Hey everything is falling to shit in chicago, you know supernatural war and realty breaking down, go check it out and be prepared for truly weird shit."*

Cass looked at Arden and put on his most calming voice.
"Yeah. Looks like the seers, and other mages, the sabbot, and malkavians are getting together for a good il monster mash. We're hoping that getting rid of our paradox cube would have helped with it."

Helena still looks dubious; she holds up a finger and closes her eyes. A few minutes go by and, contrary to all expectations, a smile creeps across her face. She opens her eyes again and claps her hands together. "So it's happened. It's finally happened. Hah! They finally swallowed their pride and admitted they need him. I was never a fan of Ksirafai politics and I certainly don't condone war, but when one needs to be fought, it needs to be fought to win. No one does that like my Tycho does." She lays back again. "Course that indicates the situation is rather complicated and definitely severe over there, but... eh. Life would be boring otherwise."
Arden: You can sense disapproval and mild scorn. And here I thought you'd appreciate the opportunity to spread your wings a bit and pursue some rare phenomenon. What about your apprenticeship has ever given you the idea that I support and/or adhere to the practice of hand-holding? I told you to go to Chicago because I needed eyes on the developing situation there, because I believed you had a part to play, and because it'd be good experience for you. Your mind whirls with grand plans, kid, but you're never going to see them realized if you're not willing to look death in the eye and see Creation at its most fragile. So far? You hadn't done that. Not really - and that bit with the dullahan doesn't count, so don't start. If I hadn't sent you there, you'd have never ridden the Black Locomotive through the Astral Gulf, you'd have never studied a rift connecting linear space-time with circular space-time, and you'd have never seen time compression from the inside. NOW you've got some serious notches on your belt, which is more than many of your compatriots can say.

Jude watched and listened as everyone talked and caught up with their sources. She posed for her picture and smiled at the date comment. It was odd just how normal this felt to her now. She had a feeling Grandfather knew something like this was going to happen. Speaking of, she should probably check in with him. You know, tesseract shoved into a rift in New York. Gonna stay with these guys and save Chicago...no big deal. She pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Not that I want to leave this place, because it is suuuuper nice, but how are we going to get back to Chicago? Do we know if supernaturals are still being kept out? And we have one that doesn't do the whole sunlight thing." Her owl like eyes scanned the group.

Cass looked at Helena, and was confused.
"I feel like I missed something... Was that like a mage vulcan mind meld?"
Jude's question then rung out.... How were they getting back? Well... HE knew one way.
"We could always try the underworld. I was wanting to visit Stygia anyway."

Arden sighs and quietly rubs his eyes. *Look Boss. You are literally in my head, you know i agree with you like 95% here. Would i have signed on the WHOLE deal with foreknowledge, lets call it fifty fifty. And i've learned more in the last few days than i could have with months with books. What i'm be specific about here is that with a little warning about he super natural conflict at least i would have made my presence known like first second i was there. With Seers throwing down in the streets it wouldn't be healthy to be an unknown unannounced mage in chicago. Not asking for you to hold my hand, but if i pack a gun thinking about wolves, a recommendation to pack a bigger gun because of bears would be a nice heads up.* Arden truly didn't want an argument here, but he was always stubburn when trying to get his point across. Arden looks back up to the conversation. "Underworld huh? Haven't been there before, they are as picky about the rules there as the hedge is loose, right?"

"I have more info, guys. Guys, there's no more supernatural lockout, the Vampires are on the brink of major war.. the hedge has stopped expanding,. It's still there, though. As far as getting back, well, I have to visit the Prince here first. Bad manners in myyy position are a horrible idea, especially with wars going on at home."
She had already begun doing her hair and makeup louder again, after all, she was going out. "I think we need to heal a night or two, gather resources, and then drive home, or..something. You living types need to figure out how to Vampire proof yourselves for that part of all these issues, eh?" She sounded really casually optimistic about this, but in reality, Crux was filled with trepidation. She was trying to figure out ways to maximize survival without alarming anyone, most of all Arden.
Survival in an urban setting was her speciality, and the Malkavian worried about liabilities. She needed friends and allies.
Then, the mage thing.. she could hardly figure what those battles would look like. Especially if the Vampires are also fighting.
Right now, though... ice skating and visiting a Prince. And then nookie before sunrise.

Arden looks more curious than anything at the moment. "Ok, is this one war or two, like is it the sabbat with the seers vs the mages and vamps, or is this two wars?" Arden looks a little frustrated now "And damnit, i need just a little more time, i'm on the cusp of a breakthrough. Damnit, this isn't just poking the Tiger, it's damn near shooting it with an epipen and tweking it's tail. I just need to hit an arentice understanding of the spirit arcana and there is a chance, if i'm right, that i could put the tiger back to sleep. Hell, if we need straight offense I could make it so that even a vampire can provoke paradox with their power, or even shield a mage against paradox backlash. Just imagine what Helena could do if we could protect her from paradox." Arden stands up and starts pacing. "Fuck it, time to eat." Arden find the nearest interface and orders himself Steak, shrimp, and lobster plus a bottle of 25 year Irish whiskey. Then pulls up google on his phone doing an image search for downtown chicago, sorts by most recent, limits to high res. Second tab, news articles on chicago in the last 24-48 hours.

Helena smirks at Cassidy. "Canada, did you ever actually watch the show? Mind melds require tactile contact, hun. No, we forged a telepathic connection a long time ago. He couldn't answer when I tried to call earlier because he was doing the murder. You know." Shrug. "Wouldn't want him to be distracted while he's engaged in mortal combat. What do you need to go to Stygia for?"
Arden: The one thing you've always been able to get away with is back-chat; you know very well most Mentors wouldn't tolerate it. Life isn't that considerate, kid. The bad guys aren't going to give the Cabals notice before attacking their holdings. So why should I? You gotta learn to think on your feet, to keep your eyes open, and above all; adapt. Yeah, solid intel is important. Yeah, we do our research. Yeah, we prepare and we plan. But at the end of the day, what keeps you alive is your ability to improvise. I'd say this was an excellent lesson in that important survival skill. You learned how to operate independent of the chain of command and adjust on the fly to changing field conditions. I'm happy with one of my students learning such valuable lessons. If you're not, I'm sure we can find someone willing to take one of my washouts. Well, there's the limit of his tolerance on this issue.
Room service arrives after a short delay; supernatural talk is temporarily halted while food is delivered. Helena also inquires about the possibility of a massage. Johann arrives just as the concierge leaves. "What up, ladies and gents - holy crap look at the rack on that one," Well, he just saw Helena for the first time.
Of course, without missing a beat she says, "I know, right? They're real and they're spectacular."
Johann nods in agreement. "Wish I could see them properly. Your husband is a lucky man." He winks at Helena, and she responds in kind. "I like this one. Anyway," He holds out a shopping bag in Crux's direction. "As you requested." Eyebrow waggle.

Johannes coming in made the skinny undead bounce and she draped herself onto him, greeting the devil with a deep kiss. As she did so, she slipped the shopping bag(s) into her hand. After the greeting, she turned to Helena. "This is our devil. I'm gonna go change, eh, and be back in a moment. Can everyone keep him up to speed?"
She bounced away to dress.

Jude frowned in thought. She was only half paying attention to the conversations anyway. She stood quietly and retrieved her bag so the heart was nearby again. Her head shot up at the mention of food, she was starving. She didn't even remember what she got...She got up again and peered at the offerings. She found the one that was hers, a beautiful burger. All the fancy food and she got a burger. Great life choices.
Jude sat back down and began chowing down like the lady she was. The life mage cleaned her hands and grabbed her phone to send out the few messages she needed to. Work, to make up some excuse of an emergency and that she would be taking vacation or sick days...whichever was easiest. She sent another to her parents to let them know she was still alive and she would talk to them when she wasn't busy, and then finally a telepathic message to Grandfather, Uh so...I am still alive and in New York...which you probably already know, but the Tesseract was put into a rift, we fought a weird and terrifying time beastie. Going to stay with this group and help get Chicago back together a bit. Anything you can offer up about the mages or vampires we would be fighting?
She put her phone down, waiting for the barrage of messages that would likely happen. She got up again and went to rummage through the kitchen for sweets.

Crux re-emerged from the master suite dressed fairly well, grinning in her new fancy clothes. With a flap, flap of her sleeves, she spun a little. In her Karen-less memory, she'd had no real experience with an upperclass lifestyle, and it thoroughly kicked ass. "Anything else needed before we go out? Or.. during? " She was making mental notes. Visit a prince, check. She texted Solomon again. *where do I find him?*

Jude: That isn't an ordinary burger. That burger is Kobe beef. Work is glad to hear you are feeling better; your boss is amused that you've called again, though. Must have been really stoned from painkillers, yeah? Well, not his business to ask (you certainly didn't call in, so someone must have covered for you). Your parents are equally pleased to hear from you, though they waste no time in asking if you murdered whatever caused the problem and when you reply in the negative immediately come back with 'why not?' Family. What can you do? Turns out, Grandfather didn't set up a telepathic link at all; he had a very stealthy spirit of communication following you. It flits off with your message and comes back quite quickly with a response. It opens its mouth and Grandfather's voice emerges (and no, the others cannot see or hear it; it is manifesting only to you) "I did not know where the path would lead, but you have done well seeing it through to its end. I am pleased you see the wisdom of involvement when it is necessary, as it is now. The Pentacle has already convened on the matter of the Seers threat, and we may soon have council with Solomon's Court and the Magnificent Mile Freehold as well. It is not clear yet what forces the Sabbat have brought to bear; I will see to it you are briefed to the best of our knowledge when you return."
Crux: Helena just responds with a casual wave and, "Have fun, be safe!" Johann smirks and responds, "I'll have her home by midnight, ma'am." On your way to the lobby; Bing! Text from Solomon: Her office is on the 70th floor of 30 Rockefeller Center. The Cam sure know how to pick 'em, gotta admit.

Cass didn't say much in regards to Arden's freak out. He'd be fine. Cass knew from experience that sometimes you needed to vent and then you'd be fine. He figured that's what was going on. The only thing he added was.
"Well at least against Sabbot we have an advantage with me being a deadman whose primary weapon is Blood manipulation." he then looked at Helena a little insulted. "I have so seen the show! Have the whole movie collection on laser disc! It was just the best simily I could come up with at the moment. A bit inaccurate I'll admit. Was going to use the force, but that's just a bit too vague to have used. With it's whole "I fell most things" stuff."
Cass stayed silent on weird shit until food was eaten. No sense talking business over a meal. Once everyone had started getting their fill he began again.
"As far as Stygia goes, I just need a power boost. Even with that lovely drink you provided I used up a good chunk of my plasm and the chiefs in that fight. I could use the recharge... Also I've been hearing talk. I hear there is a key down there that can only be taught there. It could be useful. It's incredibly offensive and, well, if rumors are true it can rot people from the inside. That sounds like something we could use. We need the deck stacked in our favor as much as possible right now. I don't typically like blending people's internal organs just their smoothies don't cha know. There's also a manifestation I've been trying to track, but seems it's been lost. No one really knows about it other then it was used at one point and that it's incredibly powerful. Otherwise buttkiss."
Cass sits back and drinks his pop.
"Also, it could get us back to Chicago fairly quickly if I use the right ceremonies."
